How to fail and get back up in record time

We’ve all been there. We made an attempt at something and failed. At the time, it felt like the worst thing that could happen. Not getting that job, failing your driving test, missing a deadline. These are all things that happen to everyone in life at some point and without them, you couldn’t feel the benefits of achieving, or appreciate how good it feels when a risk works out for the best. So why do we feel like it’s the end of the world when something goes wrong? And more importantly, how we can shorten the gap between the time it takes to wallow in self-pity, and get back up and try it again?

When we set our minds to do something, naturally we focus all our positive energy on it. When a spanner gets thrown in the works, we need to learn how to manage this unexpected negativity without letting it throw us completely. (more…)
