The Hook: Educate Together is calling on the Government to increase the supply of multi-denominational national schools in the south of Dublin as a matter of urgency. Currently, there are not enough school places to cater for the growing number of families seeking an alternative to denominational education across the south of the city. Educate Together CEO Paul Rowe has called for urgent action,“Simply put, Dublin city needs more Educate Together schools. Evidence of growing parental demand is undeniable – our schools and start-up groups are reporting that hundreds of children are being signed up to our already over-subscribed waiting lists.”

Story Idea: Conferences generate €7m for Cork – planned convention centre would help increase these figures
Expert: Evelyn O’Sullivan (Expert in Academic Conferences) Business Tourism Manager, Cork Convention Bureau.
The Hook: Over €7m was injected into the Cork economy by international conferences in 2012 confirmed through Cork Convention Bureau (CCB).CCB is a public private partnership responsible for promoting business tourism in the region. This figure could greatly increase if a planned convention and events centre was to go ahead in Cork. Cork City Council is currently looking at proposals from developers on the new events centre.
