Our Experts in the Media: 23rd – 27th March 2015

Our experts were busy in both the national and regional media last week, offering commentary on various topics in the country through radio podcasts, newspaper articles, and television appearances. Some of the media outlets that our experts appeared on were RTÉ Radio 1, Newstalk, The Irish Examiner, and WLR FM. They provided commentary on a wide range of issues including death rates of females as a result of stroke, the ESRI and the Irish economy, and the issue of diesel emissions.

Our goal is to highlight the media coverage our experts have received every week. Here are just a few examples of our experts in the media last week:

The Hook: Housebuilding has stalled, so we need a new way to deliver housing en masse, bypassing Irish builders who are holding out for high profit margins.
Renting too needs reform, and as we change the rental market here in Catalonia, there are lessons for Ireland to create a third tenure choice.

The Hook: May 1st sees the introduction of the Lifetime Community Rating Loadings to support affordable health insurance premiums for all. As exercise capacity is the greatest predictor of morbidity and mortality, I’m asking, why is there no Exercise Capacity Rating to encourage exercise for health benefits, thus reducing premiums for all?

The Hook: One Big Switch is currently running a Big Energy Switch campaign, over 6k people have already signed up to the campaign which will run for 4 weeks. Responding to the survey 6k people have said politicians have no understanding of bill stress and that many are finding it increasingly difficult to pay bills.
