Story Idea: More & more people are being forced into emergency accommodation with nowhere else to go

The Hook: The Simon Communities have warned that the homeless and housing crisis is spiralling even further out of control following the figures published of emergency accommodation figures from June 2015.

Story Idea: Simon Communities of Ireland welcome new funding for housing but say it’s not enough
Expert: Niamh Randall (Expert in Homelessness and Housing Markets) Head of Policy & Communications / National Spokesperson, Simon Communities of Ireland.                  
The Hook: The Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government have just announced new Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) funding allocations for investment in social housing. The Simon Communities of Ireland say that while this funding is most welcome, more is needed. It is essential that the Government continues providing this vital funding stream especially to provide homes for people who are homeless.
