Story Idea: New interdepartmental group report on future investment in early childhood education and care, great for parents, but what about children and staff?

The Hook: 
The report of the interdepartmental group on future investment in early childhood education was launched to much fanfare this week, and while it offers a menu of options for how to respond to the continuous lack of investment in the sector, it does not go far enough to address to address quality in Early Years settings. Parents and infants will certainly benefit from the proposal to extend maternity leave and to extend paid parental leave which is a welcome development, and parents will also welcome the much needed proposals to reduce the cost of childcare.

Expert: Kathy Maher (Expert in Pharmacies and Medicine) President, Irish Pharmacy Union.

The Hook: Pharmacists are warning asthma sufferers that hay fever is a significant trigger for asthma and to be aware of the particular allergens that affect them and, where possible, try to avoid them.
