Our experts made the news across a wide variety of genres last week, offering their knowledge and insights across the nation’s media outlets. The RTÉ Nine O’ Clock News, The Herald and TV3 News are just a few of the media outlets that have featured our experts in recent days.

Galzac experts provided commentary on a wide range of topics including the airstrike on an MSF hospital to depression in asthma sufferers.

Story Idea: School environment increases kids chances of becoming sick

The Hook:
 With Schools returning children are more likely to be susceptible to the common flu and tummy bug; the typical child expecting to get 3 to 8 common colds a year and 2 to 3 bouts of viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu) a year. It is a sure thing that parents will be treating their children for minor ailments during the course of the school year. That’s why Pharmacists have issued some practical tips for parents for this school year. President of the Irish Pharmacy Union, Kathy Maher, is available for comment on tips for kids well-being.

Idea: Pharmacists warn of the dangers of buying medicines online

The Hook: Pharmacists have warned the public that they may be putting their health at serious risk if they buy prescribed medicines online or from unauthorised sources. Kathy Maher, President of the IPU and a community pharmacist, likened buying prescription medicines online or from an unauthorised source to “a blind tasting with potentially lethal consequences”.  (more…)
